CCSP Training

What is CCSP?

From the Cisco® Website:

"The CCSP™ certification (Cisco® Certified Security Professional) validates advanced knowledge and skills required to secure Cisco networks. With a CCSP™, a network professional demonstrates the skills required to secure and manage network infrastructures to protect productivity and reduce costs. The CCSP™ curriculum emphasizes secure VPN management, Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager™ (ASDM), PIX™ firewall, Adaptive Security Appliance™ (ASA), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Cisco® Security Agent™ (CSA), and techniques to combine these technologies in a single, integrated network security solution. "

The Interface CCSP Program uses the award winning Interface HardHat™ Experience and Authorized Cisco® Courseware.

CNSS/NSA 4013 and 4011 Recognition

CNSS/NSA 4011 Recognition: Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professional
In April 2003, the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) recognized that Cisco® security courseware meets the 4013A training standard. As defined in NSTISSD 501, this advanced standard is intended for System Administrators responsible for the security oversight or management of critical networks or national security systems during phases of the life cycle. This formal NSA and CNSS certification gives Cisco® the authority to recognize those candidates who have demonstrated that they have met this training standard. To achieve the 4011 standard candidates must complete the CCNA® program and pass the SND exam, SNRS exam, SNPA exam, IPS exam, and the HIPS or CSVPN exam. Candidates who have met the standard will be issued a letter of recognition acknowledging their completion of the related requirements. This letter of recognition can be used as confirmation of having met the requirements.

CNSS/NSA 4011 Recognition:
On June 5, 2006, Cisco® was honored at the 10th Colloquium for Information Systems Education (CISSE) by the United States Government National Security Agency (NSA) and the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) when they recertified that the Cisco® security training courseware meets the 4011 training standard for information security professionals in federal government. To achieve the 4011 standard candidates must complete the CCNA® program and pass the SND exam (642-551 Securing Cisco® Network Devices). Candidates who have met the standard will be issued a letter of recognition acknowledging their completion of the related requirements. This letter of recognition can be used as confirmation of having met the requirements.

What is HardHat™?

The Interface HardHat™ Experience is a comprehensive, reality-based learning system, which immerses the student in extremely realistic business scenarios and technologies to reinforce the learning process. The “Solutions-Based and Best-Practice Approach,” the premise of the HardHat™ Experience, is used consistently throughout each technology area. Each HardHat™ student will master information regarding how critical technologies are best applied within businesses of varying sizes: Creating solutions you can actually use, understanding why a solution should be chosen, and understanding the variables and implications of each choice made regarding the solution. In addition, by exposing the “Best Practices” of Design, Configuration and Troubleshooting for each target technology area, the student will learn to do things “The Right Way, the First Time” and learn how to identify “Hidden Issues” before they materialize.

To gain confidence and independence in what has been learned; the hands-on exercises in the Interface HardHat™ programs do not follow a prescribed 'recipe-style lab' as many courses do, rather, the labs are ‘Evolutions’ which build to finality with a complete solution, while making the student 'think' in the process. Hands-on time is emphasized and each Lab Evolution engages the student to design, implement and test the full application of the critical technologies being studied. Each HardHat™ student will configure their solutions using live systems and hardware and will always learn directly from our CCIE® Instructors. Upon exit of any Interface HardHat™ Experience, the student will be empowered to immediately apply what they have learned within their own environments."
