What's New In CCNA?

On June 25, 2007 Cisco announced major updates to their CCNA® curricula. With all new courseware and exams, Cisco® is executing on their strategy to keep their tier-one courses as up-to-date as possible, maintaining the value of the CCNA® certification. Cisco® has retired their INTRO and ICND courses, replacing them with more robust offerings ICND1 and ICND2, respectively. The new courses have greater breadth - including security, troubleshooting and basic wireless Lab Evolutions, and much more time devoted to performance-based skills. A greater depth - with more than 50-60% of each course dedicated to hands-on Lab Evolutions on the most recent Live Cisco® Gear. The difficulty level of the CCNA® exam(s) has been escalated accordingly and significantly.

Cisco Releases New Certification - CCENT®

Cisco® recently announced a new entry level certification titled Cisco® Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT™). CCENT® has been created to address the need for networking professionals with a solid practical understanding of modern TCP/IP networks built with Cisco® hardware, and represents a tangible first step in earning the CCNA® certification.

This new Cisco® certification is awarded by successfully passing a single exam, the 640-822 ICND1 exam, CCENT™ – Cisco® Entry Network Technician, and is based on the content from the Cisco Authorized CCNA210 (ICND1) course. Although this new entry-level certificate may be a stepping stone to the CCNA® certification, it is directly targeted to substitute for the CompTIA Network+ certification and/or assist Retail Computer Stores and geek squad-style technicians in achieving a substantial certification for the type of work that they are involved in every day.

Why Interface Technical Training?

It's Simple... we're the Best at what we do.

The Interface CCNA® Program is focused on complete Cisco® Associate-Level Routing and Switching concepts, from LAN and WAN, to Security, Wireless and VPN, all using live, local Cisco® hardware. Based on the newly updated Interconnecting Cisco® Network Devices Part 1 and part 2 (ICND1 and ICND2) Cisco® Authorized courses, with critical real-world enhancements added to each course, the Interface CCNA® Program will properly prepare the student for three main objectives:

  • Understand how the updated Cisco® CCNA® concepts apply to real life environments, by taking a "solutions-based" and "best practice" approach to education, helping the student to apply what they have learned to real-life situations immediately after leaving the class.
  • Achieve mastery in what has been learned; the labs in the Interface CCNA® Program do not follow a prescribed 'recipe' as many courses would, rather, the labs are ‘evolutions’ which focus on the development of planning, execution and problem-solving skills critical in the real world. In fact, the Interface hands-on framework is deliberately architected to mimic the realistic and universal scenarios, forcing you to think through them and implement precise solutions based on stated objectives; step-by-step instructions do not exist for real-life and therefore are not the focus of Interface education
  • You will gain priceless experience operating on a wide variety of Cisco® hardware; from Cisco® Aggregation routers and ISRs to several models of Catalyst® switch, 2960 to 6500, all of which is in the room with you, for you to control throughout the course.

The Interface CCNA® Program will give you the ammunition you need to successfully prepare and complete your CCNA® certification and achieve greatness in real life situations.
